Erika Allen

Piano

Step 1: Meet Your Teacher

Erika grew up in Blue Hill, where she is now raising her family. She's studied and taught at some of the greatest music schools in the country: Juilliard, New England Conservatory, and Oberlin.

What lessons are like: Erika doesn't teach from a single method โ€” she reads each student and builds lessons around what they need. She especially shines with students ready to go further: building on strong existing foundations, prepping for college auditions, leveling up technique that's already there. She's a big believer in collaborating with fellow teachers, and her north star every lesson is simple: help students feel genuinely good about what they're accomplishing.

Great for: intermediate to advanced students, especially those preparing for auditions or major performances ยท students who need an individualized approach rather than one fixed method

Background: Erika holds a Master's in Collaborative Piano from Juilliard, a Masters in Music in Solo Performance from New England Conservatory, and a Bachelors of Music from Oberlin Conservatory. She's performed alongside 5x Grammy-winning soprano Dawn Upshaw and violinist Ray Chen, winner of two of the most prestigious violin competitions in the world.
